  • 2009 Donna Nicely was presented with Public Library Association's Charlie Robinson Award recognizing her role as a public library director who has been a "risk taker, innovator and change agent in a public library." For more information, click here.
 
 
  • 2010 Nashville Public Library was awarded the National Medal for Museum and Library Services, the highest honor awarded to American libraries. The ceremony was at the White House where First Lady Michelle Obama bestowed the award to Donna Nicely, NPL Director.    For more information, click here.
 
  • 2014 Toyota Teacher of the Year, Liz Atack (first librarian to win this award) by National Center for Families learning, a non-profit that supports programs to get adults and children to learn together, including efforts related to literacy and family engagement.

  • 2014 Exemplary National Bullying Prevention Award to the T.O.T.A.L (Totally Outstanding Teen Advocates for the Library) program.
